You made up your mind you were going to bring up Laken Riley’s name during the SOTU State of the Union. Margie, A Noble Idea, actually. Executed Abysmally, actually. Literally when you did that you bailed Joe out of the single worst faux pas of the entire night. What a friend you have been to him! That would have been far worse for him than failure to mention that poor victim’s name. The Goal Is To Get Biden Out Of Office, not to get the better of him. Your shortsighted outburst is characteristic of the leap before you look way you get your ultimate – recognition.
Look, Ms Green, you’re one on a 435 team. Just that should make you realize that this job is a huge % about collaboration. Not 25%, Not 50%, like somewhere significantly north of 87%. But wait, there’s more. This is not a team like a big football team or baseball team. There are pretty few positional distinctions, everyone is a generic player. Oh sure you’ve got Chairpeople and committees and such, but when House floor time comes about it’s really like a field with a band where everyone plays the same instrument. If you want to make quality music like that – I mean legislation that is meaningful to US (the citizens, this nation) – you at least don’t go off playing your own (Loony)Toon, maybe with a few others.
I’m not saying “fall into line” or stick with the party or don’t listen to your conscience. I am saying do what you can to move the needle; be persuasive; speak out but don’t act out. For God’s sake, come up with a solution, why don’t ya!? Putting the brake on the wheel of our government is the worst thing you could do… It’s Representative Terrorism, and by the way is the nicest thing you can do for Joe & Co.
